As I write this article we are slowly coming out of the darkest time of winter and the days are moving towards the light as the sun begins its return.

Reflections on Change

As permaculture designers, we are taught to first observe everything before taking any action. This helps to immerse us in the present moment and focus our attention on the whole. There is one constant to bear in mind however: everything changes. Change is inevitable and happens whether we like it or not. Some examples of change:

Dark night Light day
Sunrise Sunset
Full Moon New Moon
Fluid Water Structured Water
Full tide Low tide
Movement Rest
Awake Sleep
Birth Death
Winter Spring
Northern Hemisphere Southern Hemisphere
Old Biology New Biology

Bigger cycles of change

Known as the 25,800 Years Cycle of Precession, the north pole star and constellations above us change in a long cycle which is very difficult for us to perceive , but it affects all life on earth. It is good to be aware of this cycle.

Keep positive in this ever-changing world and make sure that you are following your dream as time passes very quickly.
